Guwahati Bangalore Express (Kaziranga Express)

Guwahati Bangalore Express, also known as Kaziranga Express is a tri-weekly super fast express train run by the Northeast Frontier Railway zone of the Indian Railways between Guwahati, Assam and Bangalore, Karnataka. Its named after the world famous Kaziranga National Park in Assam. Train numbered as 2509/2510, covers entire distance of 2992 km in 54 hours and 20 mins.

Timings and Days

The 2510 Bangalore Express departs Guwahati every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 6:30 am and reaches its destination Bangalore every Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday at 11:50 am. It runs through states of Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka & covers important stations like New Bongaigaon, New Jalaiguri, Malda Town, Kolkata (Howrah), Kharagpur, Bhubaneswar, Vishakapatnam, Vijaywada, Chennai, Bangalore.

On the return journey, the 2509 Guwahati Express departs Bangalore City Junction every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 11:30 pm and reaches Guwahati every Saturday, Sunday and Monday at 5:50 am. On its way back it covers the same stations.

Coach Composition

The train consists of both AC and Non AC accommodation. The total coach count for this train is 23. Sometimes one or two high capacity parcel vans are attached to it. Usually departs from platform 7 at Guwahati and platform 4 at Bangalore City Junction.

Reversals

This train reverses once at Howrah Junction, then at Vishakapatnam Junction and finally at Chennai Central. This train is considered one of the most important trains in NF railway and enjoys high preference en route. The demand of this train is high as well, usually most bookings happen within a day or two of Advance Reservation Period (ARP - 90 Days for this train).
